Mike Jones Training Camp Notes For Jesus Soto-Karass Rematch

FanHouse has been forwarded the training camp notes of unbeaten, 27-year-old welterweight (147 pounds) prospect Mike Jones of Philadelphia, who is preparing for a Feb. 19, HBO televised rematch of a Nov. 13, disputed decision over Jesus Soto-Karass.

Jones-Soto-Karass was fought at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium on the under card of a unanimous decision victory by eight-division king Manny Pacquiao (53-2-1, 38 knockouts), who is handled by Top Rank Promotions, over ex-champion Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs).

In defeating Margarito, Pacquiao added the WBC's vacant junior middleweight (154 pounds) crown to the WBO welterweight belt that he had already owned, but has since relinquished the WBC's crown.

Jones (23-0, 18 KOs), who nearly stopped in the Soto-Karass (24-5-3, 16 KOs) in the second round, will face him again at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas on the under card of a clash between WBA interim super flyweight (115 pounds) titlist Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KOs) and WBO and WBC bantamweight (118 pounds) king Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KOs).

Below are the training notes of Jones, his trainer, Vaughn Jackson, and his sparring partner, Gabriel Rosado (15-5, eight KOs).
